Archived from groups: alt>pets>hedgehogs (more info?)

Hi all,

My name is Caryn and I live in Fort Collins, Colorado. What brought
me here? I got my first hedgehog yesterday =) His name is Sebastian
and he is settling in wonderfully. He is five months old and I got him
from a woman who didn't have enough time to spend with him. They
must have spent some time with him though as he is fairly well socialized.
He already comes to me when out of his cage (all though getting him out
seems a little traumatic) and in his little pen on the floor.

Couple questions for the group:
1. How often do you provide insects for your hedgie?
2. What kind of toys do they enjoy besides a wheel?
3. What have you provided for your hedgie as a hiding place?
4. Do you take your hedgie in for regular vet visits? If so do you take
it to a vet that specializes in exotics?
5. Any other advice for a newbie hedgie owner?

Thanks in advance!
Caryn
